Privacy Policy
Modetype is designed to work without account registration during the MVP stage, while storing minimal anonymous data for tests and surveys.
Information collected
The service may create an anonymous profile ID. When a test is completed, selected answers, calculated type, axis scores, and completion time may be stored. Survey responses and comments are connected to the anonymous profile.
Local and server storage
Browser local storage keeps the profile ID and local test progress. The server stores test results, survey responses, and comments in a SQLite database. Until login is added, this data is not connected to a real-name account.
Access and usage information
To understand service quality and usage, the service may store random visitor and session cookies, visit times, page paths, referring host, UTM attribution, country code, language, browser, operating system, device category, and engagement time. Raw IP addresses are not stored; they are transformed into non-reversible HMAC values using a server-side secret. Strong fingerprinting signals such as canvas data or installed fonts are not collected.
Analytics retention and opt-out
Detailed sessions and events are retained for up to 90 days, and anonymous visitor records for up to one year after the last visit. First-party analytics are not recorded when the browser sends a Do Not Track (DNT) signal. Blocking or deleting cookies limits linking across visits.
Product usage analytics
Anonymous visitor and session IDs may link test starts, question views and answers, completions, question numbers and response duration, result-section visibility and scrolling, next-test, comparison, Core Profile, detail and share clicks, viewport size, document load time, and error categories without error messages. First-party analytics store answer position numbers and change flags, not answer text. Answer positions and result types are not sent as Google Analytics event parameters.
Purpose of use
Stored information is used for aggregate type calculation, survey statistics, service improvement, and future detailed reports.
Deletion requests
Clearing browser data removes local access to the profile ID. To request deletion of anonymous server data, contact [email protected].
